Winter time Safety Tips for Pets
During the winter months, we all enjoy hibernating inside to get away from the snow and cold, but many of our pets still spend time outside every day. Concerns you should be particularly cautious about in the winter months include:
· Sidewalk Salt and Ice Melt Products. These products are toxic for our pets if consumed, and can also cause skin irritations if left on their paws. It’s important to carefully wash your pet’s feet each time they come inside.
· Frostbite and Hypothermia. Our pets are extremely susceptible to the cold temperatures and should never spend more than a few minutes outside at a time, always attended.
· Holiday Safety. During the holidays, there are so many more dangers to our pets than we often realize! Our sweet treats, our rich holiday dinners, and even some of our popular holiday decorations can be extremely dangerous for our pets. It’s important to make sure that your furry friend is always supervised during the holidays.
